According to the dentists/periodontists the periodontal disease can be avoided with deep and careful dental care – in the majority of cases – but often genetic causes (the teeth and the gum unhealthy burden, which can be traced back to the jaw’s shape and to the uneven chewing), and some associated disease (diabetes, metabolic disorders, stomach and liver diseases, immune weakness), hormonal changes, poor eating habits (irregular or carbohydrate-rich eating) can induce these.
It is not rear that the lack of the thorough chewing (the consumption of soft foods), bad prosthesis (poorly bonded crowns) or bad positioned (submerged or high) fillings contribute to the appearance of bacteria, than its proliferation. It is not quite well known that some medicines (for example heart patients who are taking calcium channel blockers and preparations for the epilepsy) predispose to gingivitis.
