Why do we lose our teeth? You don’t even think!

When Matthias the fair during his country walking encountered with an old man, among other issues he asked him: “How much are the thirty-two?” – Well, e’en they are only twelve now! – came the answer (The question was related to the number of the teeth).

This problem, namely that with the advancing age we (can) loose our teeth, even it can be attributed to the natural psychological processes, but nowadays on the current stage of development of the dentistry – if we turn to doctor on time) -, we don’t have to lose our teeth necessarily.

There is not impossibility, just inertia?

The public opinion consider that becomes edentulous the tooth decay plays the primary main role. In contrast, in fact the gingivitis and the periodontal diseases held responsible to the edentulous. For long time the dentists don’t really know what to do with the gingival necrosis, but now there is a relatively new specialist area of dentistry, the paradontology achieved a lot of success in gingival and periodontal disease treatment, in saving the teeth.

The migration of bacteria

The problem with the gingival bleeding and the gingivitis is not just it is uncomfortable and often painful, but if the inflammation will return from time to time, the protecting gums surrounding the teeth separates from the teeth, and pockets are formed in it. This emerging “bags” between the gum and the tooth root contain a lot of bacteria, inflamed tissues, plaque, therefore – even without symptoms – they can become to the scene of permanent inflammation. The problem is also with this process that it becomes unstoppable.

Since due to the constant inflammation the gingival hurts, swells, we can’t properly care for our teeth, so the bacteria increasingly proliferate, the symptoms become chronic, then the beginning gum diseases follow the slow, abnormal gingival necrosis, and the gradual deterioration of the mandible’s bone. The final stop is the loosening teeth and theirs fall out.

The result of the scientific research of the resent years showed that the periodontal disease causing bacteria can play a major role in the formation of the cardiovascular disease too, because they get into the blood stream from the mouth and damaging the walls of the blood vessels.
