1. The bleaching damages the teeth. Experiments and clinical studies confirm that if the dentist observes the professional rules, there is no harmful side effect of teeth whitening.
2. The consumed foods and beverages don’t affect the teeth discoloration. In contrast, among the number of possible reasons we mention just a few: foods, and beverages which contain pigments (e.g. coffee, tea, red wine, coke – these contain acidic substances), smoking, pipe-smoking, etc.
3. The discolored root canal treated teeth can’t be whitened. These teeth can be whitened as well, but in this case we apply so called internal bleaching procedure, which takes several treatments.
4. The teeth whitening can be applied independently from the health status. Producers do not recommend it for pregnant and nursing ladies, in the case of any allergy against the used materials, in the case of certain dental defects, patients who have large pulp chambers (youth), in the case of untreated wrong fillings, if there is any visible injury, which can damage the teeth (e.g. cracks).
5. The filled teeth can be whitened in the same way as the original teeth. We can whiten these teeth as well; and after approx. 2 weeks of bleaching we prepare the final aesthetic solutions (replace the filling according to the tint, etc.)
6. Tooth cleaning is not necessary before blenching. Always necessary to clean the teeth, during which we remove plaque and calculus, then polish the teeth.
7. The surgical teeth whitening is more efficient, than teeth whitening at home. Of course there can be differences, but the experiences show that there is no significant difference between the two procedures.
8. The teeth whitening do not give permanent result. It can lasts for several years, it is impossible to tell exact date about the next treatment, because it depends on the influences of the teeth!
