Inlay’s advantage

Today, from the available inlay types taking into the account the functional and aesthetic needs and financial possibilities there are a number of possible solutions. Our applied aesthetic inlays’ quality and accuracy is outstanding, their chewing stability, their mouth-resistance offers a long term solution.
  • with the use of inlay the remained tooth quantity can be saved, may be retained in order to avoid the tooth’s attend with the crown.
  • it provides better border seal than the composite fillings made in the surgery.
  • in dental technician hands, with full insight, in perfect lighting conditions, even using magnifying glass to prepare and work out.
  • it gives back better the tooth’s individual anatomic shape.
  • more aesthetic result
  • it enables easier the creation of individual occlusal pathway.

Inlay’s materials

One large group of the inlays satisfies high aesthetic needs. The inlays made from the reinforced composite (Belle Glass, Gradia) and ceramics (pressed ceramic, Empress) provide satisfaction for 8-12 years for our patients.

Belle Glass: plastic, reinforced with glass fiber. Suitable for making inlays, lateral crowns and traditional short fixed partial dentures as well as one member remount fixed partial dentures with inlay anchorage. Its disadvantage is that its tensile strength is low, therefore it is suitable only for short restorations, and can’t polish as smooth as porcelain, and therefore it is more plaque retentive. But its positive characteristic is that it is not as rigid as porcelain.

Gradia: plastic, reinforced with ceramics. Its indication area is the same as the restorations from BelleGlass material. Its features are the same as BelleGlass.

Traditional ceramics: it is mainly recommended for making inlays, crowns, and shells; and this technology is not really used now, because the zirconium oxide restorations overshadow.

Pressed ceramics:

  • Noritake: from this material first prepared a hard frame and they burned on this the ceramics. Inlay and crown can be made from it.

  • Cergo Kiss (Degudent): its benefit is that more creative tooth shade can be created due to the richness of the color palette and hence its transparency can form much more diversified. Inlay and crown can be made from it. The ceramic itself is not capable to prepare fixed partial denture from it, in this case other material is necessary, for example metal alloy, gold, zirconium oxide which constitutes the frame of the fixed partial denture and the ceramic form is built on this.

  • Burned ceramics to gold: every work can be prepared from it which is from the traditional ceramo-metallic, e.g. crowns, short and long fixed partial dentures. Non-allergic, due to the gold color the tone of the ceramic is much more natural. The gold is much easier workable, ductile, therefore its edge portions can easier evolve, accurate restorations made from it.
