The formation of cavity happens with fast speed drill, and the removal of decayed part happens with slow speed drill. Then the anatomical shape of tooth can be recovered with tooth colored aesthetic filling material.
The procedure such as an isolation system happens next to the usage of the so called rubber dam isolation system. The tool consists of rubber sheet and fixing clasp is a useful and essential condition for the successful filling. It ensures perfect visibility, maximum safety and properly sterile circumstances for the work. The teeth can come out on the rubber sheet. The sheet is fixed with the clasp on the tooth, and with the help of a frame it remains outside the mouth. For the treatment more simultaneous tooth isolation is required. Inlay, onlay
After removing any old fillings or after cleaning the decay, a special cavity formation happens. In many cases one cusp removal is needed, because these unsupported tooth parts can be broken due to the chewing power (in the case of root canal treated teeth we use covering inlay, so called onlay). If necessary, the undercuts parts of the cavity have to fill in with composite or glass ionomer material.
The impression happens with silicone based impression material. For the dental technician work antagonist impression is required as well. In this case usually alginate impression material can be used.
