Rotary trail
The most beautiful walkway in the woods above the town is the Rotary walkway, which was built from the donation of Ede Ereth, the late CEO of the tannery in the beginning of the 1930’s.
The walkway is at a 550m altitude and it goes around the Small-Tubes (581m) and the Tubes (612m). On this round-shaped walk the change of the nature can be tracked very well. On the north side you can see beech, on the south side there are karst scrub forest, on the east and west side there are lot of oak trees with different additional trees. During the fine walk, there are different signs along the road, in which the trees tell stories about themselves. The walkway was built on the idea and work of Aladár Tóth forest engineer.
Accessibility:
The walkway has easy access from two sides. The first option is to start from the bus round below the Pécs TV tower, where you can find the yellow tourist alert and you can approach on this was the Misina-Tubes spine. The second option is that you go by car until the Lapis, from here you can follow again the yellow marks and reach the Rotary walkway. You can visit the walkway on stone road as well from the Misina saddle and from Lapis. The path of the walkway can be followed by the yellow marks painted on the woods.
