The picturesque Danube Bend
Visegrad-Esztergom
The most important events of the Middle Ages Hungarian history connect to the Danube Bend. During our trip we visit the Royal Palace built by Charles Robert, in which King Matthias later formed one of the most beautiful Renaissance courtyards of the country. In the Palace we can admire the Hercules Fountain; we walk up to the Solomon Tower which was built at the same time with the Citadel, before the Royal Palace. We can reach the Citadel by walking next to the Tower where the Danube Bend uniquely picturesque sight unfolds before us.
We continue our trip to Esztergom. Esztergom is one of the most beautiful located cities in Hungary. We can enjoy the complete look of the Basilica and the nearby Medieval Castle from the other side of Danube, walking through on the Mary-Valerie Bridge, from Párkány. Back to the Hungarian side – after a not too lunch in the Trotters Tavern – we visit one of the biggest church of Hungary, one of the masterpiece of Hungarian Classicism the Basilica of Esztergom.
