Implant – Tooth implantation – A new quality of life
Sooner or later we all have to admit: we can lose our either tooth. This has several reasons. We lose most of the teeth due to tooth decay or gingival recession. It is not rare that an accident caused the possible edentulous area. But the edentulousness – no matter that it is small or big - should be eliminated in the shortest possible time. The restoration becomes necessary. What can we do? A fixed partial denture? A removable denture? An implant? Or fixed on 6-8 implants, ceramics doesn’t fixed-removable prosthesis. Maybe anchored prosthesis on mini or needle implants? The partial or complete prosthesis disturbs many patients, especially if it isn’t stable or if it is moving.
In that case if the removable denture is not properly fixed on the mandible, often may occur unpleasant side effects: limited the chewing functions, difficult to speak nicely, and a powerful sneeze may have embarrassing consequences. The wobbly denture is over, which also mess up our joy in the best moments, whether it be even eating, talking or sport activity. To the elimination of smaller edentulousness, or one lack of tooth, by the previous prostheses the adjacent teeth had to involve. These had to polish – even if they were healthy! In the case of dental disease or edentulousness, each prosthetic treatment’s aim is already from the beginning that restores the natural condition as accurately as possible. As we have fewer teeth, it is more difficult to reach this goal. Often, especially in the case of larger prosthesis can’t ensure proper function through long time, because depends on situation changes can occur in the status of mandible and mucous membrane. The prosthesis doesn’t fit correctly now, the keeping is lost.
In many cases the implants offer better solution. The implants replace the missing teeth, including the teeth’s root. The place of the former teeth, they are placed in the mandible (for implantation). During the healing period the bone overgrows the implant such an extent, that it will surely fix in the bone. During the healing period, which lasts at least three months (exceptionally immediately can be loaded depends on the quality of the bone), the implants are located below the mucous membrane (gum), which protects them at this time from the load. After that they screw the superstructure into the implant, on which they fix the “new tooth”, as the other cases the traditional crowns. Instead of the root picks up the implant the chewing load, and this steadily forwards toward to the mandible.
In order to make that the artificial root can fix certainly in the mandible, the implants fulfill three important requirements:

In what case can the implants use?
This depends on the given circumstance (indication). We will show you through a few examples when is it possible to apply implant as an alternative of traditional prosthesis:
If 1-1 tooth should be replaced?
In order to the dentist shouldn’t abrade the adjacent healthy tooth for a fixed partial denture, the implant allows the replacement of the missing tooth. The fourth tooth following by the canine was missing; we replaced it with an implant which holds the crown. The patient’s upper left first tooth had an accident previously, therefore had to root canal treated. In the mandible began a chronic inflammatory process which led to the loosening of the root. After the tooth removal the implant was inserted, then after 3 months the final prosthesis was prepared. During the intervention the aesthetic restoration of the mucous membrane took place too.
If on the one end of the upper or lower mandible one or more tooth is missing?
A traditional restorations only on the mucous membrane placed removable prosthesis offers possibility. With the usage of implants in this case the basis of the fixed partial denture can be created. If there is a huge gap between the few existing teeth
In the case of such missing they place implants, which together with the existing teeth are serving as the restoration’s pillars. Depends on case can be made fixed or removable prosthesis. For example the distance between the lower left canine and the wisdom tooth is very big to this 2 teeth would be sufficient to the replacement of the 4 missing teeth, therefore to the sixth tooth’s place implant has been inserted. Thus the fixed partial denture became preparable.
If there are no longer own teeth
The traditional prosthesis lies on the mucous membrane. In the case of implants they fix the denture so as don’t prevent the chewing or the speaking.
A new quality of life
The benefit of implants is obvious: your teeth are securely fastened; you will see that your "new teeth" help to regain your confidence.
Although, with the use of the implants cannot give up the restoration, the size of the prosthesis can often significantly reduce and can better adapt to the natural starting point. The prosthesis either you or a third party hardly notice, because it is functionally and aesthetically better.
You can wear your “new teeth” as the natural ones. The stable fixed prosthesis allows you to chew with more power and therefore might eat all the foods. During speaking the prosthesis is not confusing, and so you can laugh heartily again.
How the treatment happens?
First of all, there is a thorough examination. The occurrence of inflammations must be healed before the implantation takes place. The decayed teeth and the gingival recession must be treated. After your dentist made a comprehensive picture about your bite, informed you about the treatment, planned everything, the intervention can start.
After the local anesthesia they open the mandible at that place, where the implant inserted into the bone. They prepare the implant bed; the implant is placed, and then they stitch the mucous membrane. The aftermath of the implantation in most cases causes 2-3 days annoyance. During this time in the surgical site swelling and potentially weak pain may occur, which can completely eliminate with medicines. After surgery the regular treatment with soft laser speeds up the healing process. The fact that they cover the implant with the mucous membrane, they protect it in the healing time from doesn’t desirable load, thus it can heals undisturbed.
Depends on case the implant after 3-6 months perfectly integrated into the bone. After this they screw the superstructure into the implant, on which will fix the restoration. Except when the bone’s quality can load immediately and promptly can make the removable or fixed restoration.
